AT A GLANCE
- WooCommerce as the purchasing experience
- Account and business-system validation
- Continued development around real operating requirements
Commerce starts with the business.
A B2B purchasing experience has responsibilities beyond displaying products. Customer accounts, business rules and the systems used to manage the organization all affect what a buyer can do. For Afton Scientific, the work connects the website experience with those operating requirements.
A connected WordPress foundation.
DeCort’s work brings WooCommerce development together with SAP-connected workflows. The storefront remains the customer-facing layer, while integration work connects it to business information and validation. The aim is a purchasing experience that fits the organization’s process rather than forcing that process into a generic storefront.
Rules belong in the workflow.
Account validation is part of the platform’s behavior. The work includes the connection between WooCommerce and SAP used to validate business-account information. Keeping those responsibilities explicit matters: presentation, customer access and business-system checks are related parts of the experience, each with its own role.
A platform that continues to evolve.
This is an ongoing development engagement. The case study focuses on the WooCommerce and SAP-connected work already in place. Continued development builds on that foundation as the organization’s requirements evolve.
What this project demonstrates.
The value of the engagement is in connecting a customer-facing website to operational requirements. It brings interface development, integration work and an understanding of business rules into the same project.
